J'net Smith Marketing - Licensing - Publishing Creative marketing for marketing creations.™

J'net Works

Branding is clearly the cornerstone of Jeanette Smith's success. Originally from the northwest, her early career days in advertising and marketing led her to NYC. There she repeatedly opened new divisions for corporate giants, including Macmillan Publishing, Paramount Communications, VIACOM International and Official Airline Guides. With each endeavor came success for Jeanette and profits for the companies and her clients. J'net was not satisfied standing still. She continued to follow her passions and expand her horizons.

In the early 1990's United Media was known by insiders as a "one dog house" - Snoopy™. But that was soon to change. With J'net taking charge of United Media's comic properties, she raised the potential of the then obscure Dilbert™ and Dogbert™ from an unknown syndication - based comic strip to a two hundred million dollar - a - year global brand.

Currently J'net works with Tom Wilson, Internationally Syndicated Ziggy™ Cartoonist, on his new business venture Character Matters, LLC. She directs sales and marketing for the character development business and manages clients, such as Girls and Boys Town.

J'net has coached more than 100 artists, including Tara Reed. When the duo met at Licensing International in 2005, Reed had signed on six licenses in three years. J'net helped her ink an amazing 16 new deals in less than a year, and in 2008, Reed has 30 licensees including publishing.

J'net Smith and Andre Lake Mayer put Becky Denny on the art licensing map, with strategic planning, collection development, marketing and sales of more than 250 products in less than three years. J'net has remained with Becky as a consultant for her new business Ceranima Home; a development company that creates designer products for affinity consumer markets.
